Week 4 News

3 Nov 2023 by Jonathan SAW

Good morning all, we have a few notices this week.

Canteen:
As Tempest finds her feet in the canteen the range will gradually expand. Starting with icy poles for tomorrow’s warm day! Each week a team is rostered to help in the canteen. It is vital that the team provides at least two people for the duration of the morning. Prep and cooking begins at 7:45. It is often a good idea to swap these early helpers at 8:45 so that some new ones can help with the sales rush as the games finish. Many hands make light work and as with the rest of the club, we do rely on parent help to keep the canteen running.

Umpires:
We do not have enough Junior Umpires to cover each game. Teams need to be prepared to provide an umpire for the game if you don’t have one at 8:05. The umpires will be rotating through games and levels to cover as many as possible. If you know any 12yr olds who would like to umpire, let them know we need them!

Week 4 Full Rules:
Now players and teams have had a chance to settle in, Full rules will start this week for Level 2. If coaches have any requests for leniencies, they need to be discussed with the umpire and opposition coach before the game.

Warren Lake Carnival:
This years Warren Lake Carnival is being held on Sunday Dec 3rd. This is a TBAWA event that is open to club teams. Teams play against other club teams in their age group. It usually a morning or afternoon (depending on age grouping) consisting of five 45 min games. It is a great way for teams to get a few extra games in and is a really well run event. If any teams would like to play the Club will pay the nomination which closes on Nov 15. Please let me know if your team would like to play.

State Team Tryouts:
The club will be beginning the tryout process for our State teams starting next week. Players who are interested will need to present in person on Sat 11th from 9:30 – 10:30. Parents and players need to understand that there is a time and financial commitment that comes with being successful in this process. Further details to follow….

Thanks everyone, see you tomorrow!
